i need a mac sofware to record a soundtrack for a video on the fly

I'm looking for a mac app that allows me to play a video and record soundtrack on the fly. Is that possible?

Do you mean to record audio from a microphone, or to record a composition that you're playing on a keyboard? Reaper is free software for both. Audacity is free for recording audio. Audacity is a lot easier to learn if all you need to do is record audio from a microphone. I believe it can open/play video as well (not sure what Reaper's video is like)

iMovie does it actually if you are just talking voice over stuff.
