hi there, anybody knows a guitar effect processor software for win98 win2k (like revalver, guitar fx box, and amplitube) for realtime recording? those i mentioned are plugins and not design for realtime recording, you must record a guitar unprocessed wave before u can used it and i dont like that. i want a realtime recording. so any knows a guitar effect processor software? realtime?

They are designed to be used real time. Make sure you have you vst/directx host software (cubase etc) setup properly so that you are monitoring the effects in realtime.

how? once i click "record" on my host and click the "start" to start the guitar processing, it always says, "the system bla bla is stil in used, wait for the bla bla to bla bla" maybe both the host and the guitar processor are using the same system and cannot be played at the same time. maybe i need two sound cards. what do u think?

im using quartz audiomaster project studio for win98 and my soundcard is soundblaster audigy. i cant record two softwares at the same time like recording on the quartz audiomaster and processing guitar.

I am not familiar with your software but you should be using amplitube as a vst plugin with your host software. They shouldnt be running as two separate applications. You also need to be using the asio drivers for your audigy so that latency is low enough. Sorry I cant help you more than that.

I ran into the same type of problem and found the best solution for me was to buy a V-amp2($140/Zzounds). It's MUCH more versatile than plugins and has made jamming with loops and tracking a breeze.

You CAN split the output of the V-amp2 if you want, so you can monitor with a distorted sound while recording a "dry" signal and then apply distortion plugins to the "dry" signal on playback. I don't actually do this though, as the sounds on the V-amp2 are good enough(for me anyway) on their own.

Maybe you could split your guitar signal and send one line into a guitar amp/effects pedals etc. to monitor and send another line to your pc to record dry ?

Hope this helps !
