i need some help finding a drum machine

i'm trying hard to stay away from the mpc's since i don't have use for the sampler ( i don't know how to sample) plus i have a triton

i need a drum machine that i can take anywhere in the house and play. something with storage capability so i won't rely on the DAW

i can pick up a used MPC at Samash but i really want some other suggestions as i'm clueless.

Easy

an mpc is really just a drum machine that you buy sounds for. I have a sampler I use the same way. Works just like a drum machine. You can just buy some of the disks on ebay with drum kicks , snares, and an assortment of stuff. Just my opinion. I dont have an mpc, but ive worked with a few sampers and drum machines. There not overlwhelming to work with. When I used to think of a sampler,, I felt the same way. If you still arent interested in an mpc,, theres a few different drum machines. The groovebox, emu mp7 ( i got this one, its got the mophatt sound set), Rm1x ( i got this one too, sounds arent that great,,but nice sequencer, I run my system with it), or one of the cheaper smaller ones. I ve had one of the cheaper smaller ones before. I outgrew it quick. Not many sounds too work with, It had a few snares and kicks and that was it. I hope i Helped u a little

You don't need a drum machine you need to buy some samples kits and you also need to learn how to use your TRITON. I was recommending sample disks sites but one guy is a internet bitch and the other decided to spam this site so you just gotta do a search.

But I'm selling a DR. 660 for the low if you just gotta burn some bread... PM me....

For real you need to learn your TRITON... Stop dicking around...

Anyways....

Also the MPC is a very dope piece and sampling ain't hard... Still you can buy the sample disks. You might wanna wait on the MPC1000 which seems like it might be a cool beat production tool and/or new toy...

TRITON.....

You can get a drum machine and watch that chumpee become old and played out right before your eyes, or you can just cop some samples since you already have a Triton (which has a funky sampler inside.)

Here's a jewel :

They've got crazy drum Machine samples for free. That should keep you busy. Save your cheese. Take your kids, or your girl, or yourself out instead.

peace.

thanks guys keep droping some names

as far as sample disk i haven't had the need to get some ,at least for the time being, as i have BATTERY and it's very expandable

i want a hardware so i can be mobile, probably not like Dre hitting the Pad in an airplane but mobile nonetheless (maybe in my truck at the park)
and mostly i want to save whatever pattern i come up with.

how's the RS7000

L'espion,

If you just need a decent drum machine, why don't you snag Lazi's 660 or the Boss DR-202 (the black & orange joint)? Cheap, cool sounding (I think the stereo outs can be a little noisy, you'll have to be judicious with your output levels), & effective. If you don't need a sampler or sequencer, why pay for it? They both run on batteries, too if I'm not mistaken.

The drum kits on the RS are definately decent, but if you're gonna spend 1200 bucks on just a drum machine, then get you one of these... No battery operation, but none on the RS either...

yo FD , Stray gave me a link to a used one
what kind of stuff would you be checking out on the machine since i only have 48 hrs to do that

On the real your cheapest option might be to snag the 660 off me while i'm felling nice. I can make a beat on it using some of my tricks and you can determine if you like it. Nope no battery power...

On the riz zille the DR 202 is noisy as a bitch and the ouput is slighly low but it has some nice ass sounds on it. Basses to match.... 3 track pattern sequencer ( 1 drums, 1 bass, and 1 for external shit) to drop on. Batteries.... Still makes noise with batteries....

RS7000 is what i'm wanting but don't even need or can afford that shit right now...

Dog run thru the PAWN SHOP listings in your phone book and ask about some shit. You'll probably get lucky..... Or cop from me.....:D

i was willing to spend money on a MPC, but didn't really want one i'm going with this RS7000 Stray put me on to a used one for 700 i played with the jawn at samash and i'm feeling it so i figure i spend the Dough ,learn another workstation and have a drum machine at the same time

btw i was talking about BATTERY, the software from NI.

Thanks fellas

RS7K

got the rs7k since wednesday and so far i'm RTFMing , but i'm also writing down some questions

yo lazi go'head and cop one so i have 2 heads to help me out, since it would only be an upgrade in your case
