any out there for around 200 dollars and not dealing with computers?

Hi mate,

I used to use the Alesis SR-16. That'l do the job. Its fairly old now and some of the samples might be considered a bit old, but it'l do the job. Dunno how much they're going for these days but you might be able to pick one up for around 100 quid or so (about $140, I think)

Cheers :-)

$300 will get you a new Boss DR-670. It's a stand-alone, doesn't require a PC. You will need, however, something to play it back through - headphones, your stereo system, etc. It can store a maximum of 100 songs with 250 patterns per song (I just composed a three-minute song that consisted of only 9 patterns, so patterns can go a long way.)

This may be more than you need. You can probably pick up a used one for close to your $200 requirement.

Zoom MRT-3b $99 new.

It's what I use. Check out the website for the scoop http://www.samsontech.com ..... you should be able to dload a pdf manual there as well. Awesome little machine.
