hey guys...
im looking to step up my entire preamp situation...
i have a basic home recording set up and im doing very well for myself with it, as far as my personal music being recorded at my own will and time with my band, and as far as making really good money recording bands...
im looking to up my preamp situation

as of right now i want to step up to 8 new preamps, for the drum recording...

this is a lot of preamps and as of right now i can't really afford buying 8 rnp's...

i plan to spend a decent amount of money on a good single (or dual) channel preamp to use on the single track recording, but i need to do something about beefing up the drum tracks...

can you please give me some ideas...and a few different price ranges...
between say, for the 8, 800 bux and 2000 ?
thanks guys.

You would only need 4 RNP's not 8 BTW! I'm not saying this is what you should buy (never used one), but 4 of these are within your budget!

1 RNP
3 Delta DMP3's

you should be able to get these under $1000

that Soundcraft board plus a RNP puts you right under $1100 and is a great option......and youll have 10 channels of preamp.........

4 RNP's keeps you under $2000 for 8 channels........

1 Sytek 4 channel with the burr brown mod on channels 3&4
1 RNP
1 Presonus MP-20
or a used Tl Audio PA-2 off ebay retubed and calibrated

There are 8 channels 4 different sounds for under $2000

here is a clip of the sytek used for vocals and guitars

Crap I just noticed it comes with just a DA88 output standard. Nevermind. Thats lame.

I know nothing of the subject but doesnt the Aardvark Q10 do the job nicely?

why not

just build your own mic preamps. i can build 8 for about
160 bucks, and thats getting fancy.
its lots of fun. lots of schematics on the net.
just an idea.

You are better off using your stock pres than that Hoontech crap.
