:) I must say, sitting here listening to the HRC tunz, that I hope everyone here has learned something. That you don't need all that other shit to make fantastic music, and record it too. Man, I hope my wife doesn't get into this thread, cause she's gonna flip, knowing how much all the"shit" cost, and you guys doing these great recordings without using all of it. he he he he

I've listened to all the HRC tunz (thru 1:00pm) today, and would like to congradulate each and every one on a job well done. I think these have been some of the best tunz, and best recordings I've heard on the site.

Sorry if I didn't give a personal reply to everyone, but someone has to cut the fucking grass. And also, as we all have done before, you other freaks not doing the May HRC, you'll get your listen too, so be patient. If you fell like no ones listening, just keep bumping you tune up, and I'm sure we'll get to'em. The "challenge" tunes will slow down after the deadline.

And by the way, who ever thunk of it, a great challenge.

bump..........listened some more, and just want to say.......

I thinked on what you said. Your right, the one that thunk of it was right on the mark. :)

Can anyone tell, I really like you folks naked.....................

I feel so.........................nervous.
I've been wanting to do a tune for the challenge but my day job has gotten in the way. I'm building an Optical Transition Network in a trailor in the middle of nowhere (I hear cows moo-ing all day) and I'm on a deadline to get it done. 12 hour days, 7 days a week till it's done. When I get home about alls I can do is think about going to bed.:( Maybe this week end.
I very much agree, I've heard some killer stuff over the last few days.

From the "Methods" thread....

I think we should do a new challenge. Submit a dry recording. It was suggested as part of the last challenge, but how valuable that might be has me wondering now. I mean, half the time I critique somebody's mix here in the clinic I want to start telling them to get a better mic, or better place the one they have, or stop recording live effects, or whatever. It seems to almost always be a problem with tracking! So maybe with a challenge that has us submitting an unprocessed mix, we could see everyone naked, and poke fun at them. No, I mean we could better spot potential troubles with tracking. It will also force you most people here to pay attention to their tracking technique knowing that the rest of us will hear it before processing.

Ya it seems to be accomplishing the goal so far! Now if I can get an hour or two where I'm not building a deck or sleeping, I may actually be able to submit something myself!

I brought the proposal up in the "Methods" thread if you haven't had a chance to check some of that out yet. A lot of it ended up cramming up into a discussion about bit rates, but there's some other stuff in there too.

But ya you're right...the toys are not required!!!!

By the way, I really dug that recording you guys did of "Turn..."

Just a suggestion:

Hey, can't we ask the board admins for a dedicated 'mp3 challenge forum'? To seperate the massive challenge responses from the other posts? The challenge thing is not exactly new, right? I mean, it could be filled enough to justify the creation of a new forum?

I've got a feeling I'm missing out on a lot, and the lack of responses on newbie material might scare them away...

same thing. Are you guys, we guys, all us guys, and all you gals, the most talented bunch of misfits that ever hit the record button? Yes. This was, and still is, a great challenge. I still think everyone that put up did a great job, well except maybe mine, which was the whole band instead of just me, but it was dry.

By the way, what's on tap for the next challenge?

Has anyone mentioned playing an instrument other than his or her's main squeeze? That would be some good fun listening, and with all this talent here, I'm sure most everyone could put up a tune.

Anyway, this one was great, and I've enjoyed all the tunz to date.

Dan

Ya' know......why don't we pick one of the other forums that's not used very much.....and the 'hardcore' clinic dwellers ( you know who you are) could start putting our songs up there. That way I would know that SLuiCe and crawdad's and other greats would have their songs where I could find them. It wouldn't hurt the clinic 'cause we'd all still go there to help the newbs, and we'd still put some stuff up there........but it would be cool to have a space that wasn't quite as insanely busy where those of us that are gonna be around a lot for years could hang out without being swamped by newbs.
What ya'll think?
