I can't decide wether to get the NS10s or the YSM-1Ps.

Every recording studio has NS10s. If it sounds good on NS10s is sounds good everywhere. That's what I have been hearing.

Why shouldn't I get NS10s. If they are the most accurate wouldn't that be the best buy?

Can someone help me out here?

Why shouldn't I buy NS10s?

Ha! They're hardly "the most accurate"!!! :D

BUT... they work for some people for a variety of reasons.

Bottom line - get a pair of monitors that 1) most importantly don't hype the sound too much one way or another, and 2) you don't get fatigued listening to for hours at a time.

No matter what you buy, you're going to have to spend A LOT of time learning how to translate mixes from your studio to the "real world" on them............

If you can stand the obnoxious sound of NS-10s, get them, although I personally think you'd have an easier time with the Yorkvilles.

YMMV......... ;)

get what works for you

Dont rush to buy a set of monitors because everyone says they are the best. The ns 10's are good but whatever monitors you get you will have to learn them. The guy that tells you to get this or that because they are soooo good may have a different room set up which helps make them sound good. I use ps6's and they are good but even they have flaws. They produce more bass than is actually in the song while my "crackhead allegro" speakears are perfect for flat response. I put bass traps behind my ps6's and i now get a better sound. but if i just said my ps6's are killer I would have led you wrong if i didn't mention the bass traps. Go to different studios a give their monitors a listen to see what you like. A little running around will save you grief in the long run.

yo jerryD,

I've got to tell you, I like your mixes already.

But did you hear shaketheclown's mix that he did no NS10s. The mix freaking rocks
