I love my echo layla 24/96!

So what are your thoughts on the Audiofire? I've got one coming tomorrow.

I love mine. I was using a Mackie Onyx 1220 mixer with the firewire card before I got this and I noticed a marked improvement in clarity once I got the Audiofire12. I was able to a/b them because I didn't sell the Mackie right away. I did my best to keep it objective, but there's always the new car smell factor.
I am a fan of Echo stuff in general. I've used a bunch of different interfaces (a couple of M-Audios, an E-Mu 1212m (this sounded really good too), the Mackie Onyx, Digi 001, Steinberg Project Card) and my favorites have been the Audiofire12 and a pair of Echo Mia's I had for a few years. The Mia's are in the same family as the Layla 24/96. Those were rock solid.
I recently picked up a slightly bollocked Audiofire4 for $50 (one mic pre reportedly does not work)! I have to hunt down a power supply for it though.

Nice to know the newer stuff still has quality converters.
Hopefully you can get a power supply by spec for cheap. This is why I never throw away any adaptors. I've got a box full of the things:D Ya just never know when you'll need one.

Props to Echo customer service-- I emailed them and asked them if I could buy one from them or if they knew of a good aftermarket one and they said that they would just send me one free! :D

got it today and it works great (not shocking). big thumbs up for echo customer service!

i absolutely love echo! i've had an echo layla 24 for awhile, just got a gina 24 super cheap over the weekend. at first i was having a big problem with it crashing after 5 seconds of playback. went to the echo site, downloaded the updated drivers, and now it works perfect!

i think it's absolutely amazing that they still offer support and up to date drivers on their older products.

absolutely. i was using a couple of echo mias until a couple of years ago and have been using them for several years and the control panel in the later versions of the drivers kept improving.

I had a Gina20, then a Layla20, another Layla20 and now a Layla3G.

I like 'em. They've never been a problem with my software programs spitting them things to do or a weak link. They're better quality than what I am putting into them, for sure.

Supprisingly, they don't seem to advertise and almost everyone decides not to carry their products. Online orders at my 4th and 5th choice of places to buy seem to be the outlets.

Personally, I don't think I'd hear a difference at HOME with my Echo stuff VS RME or a Lynx. Many would disagree with that, but like I said, they're not the weak link by any means in my studio.

These are incredibly moving testimonials, sure to begat many happy new Echo users.

Ha! I have about 30 in a box in my closet! My wife hates my pack rat-ness, but I can't stand throwing something out and needing it later. :D
