I know that there's alot to choose from out there these days but, I think you all have to admit that the echo layla riens supreme over anything else that you can buy used for $200.00. I say it's the best ebay interface deal out there. I smiled as I stacked another echo layla on my trusted original. Then I watched as they made tender love, switches flicking, jacks undgulating!
The sweet simplicity of their brushed aluminum face plates glowing unassumingly in the light of thier cycloptic green leds.

Echo layla 24/96's are number 1! All other soundcards are #2 or lower.

Did I ever tell you the story of how my event asp8's waved my life?

One day while mixing a song a large bee came in threw the window. Yep, you guessed it. I am deathly allergic to bees. Well this was one evil bee. He headed straight for my nose. I pulled my head back out of the way just in time and I could see the insane look in his eyes as he flew past my face and turned to make another run at me! I can remember it now, it was like it happened in slow motion. As the bee gained speed heading straight for my left shoulder I yelled “NOOOOOOOOOOOO”! Thinking quickly and knowing the bee had to fly past the front of my trusty ASP8 I reached for the snare fader with my right hand. At the very moment the bee passed the ASP8, I pushed the fader to the max. Using the full 280 watts of power the ASP8 reproduced a snare hit with startling force and clarity cracking the glass in a picture frame and blowing the wings Clean Off the bee!
As the bee fell at my feet knocked senseless I thought to my self “thank god for my Event ASP8 monitors”.

I have since taken down all framed pictures in my control room and now mix with my windows closed. I still have my Event ASP8’s to protect me but, what if next time I am not fast enough to reach the fader?

I bet that taught all local bbees how to behive around you.
Were the monitors designed by an asperist?

Ohhhh Beehive, Ray.

I did hang the wingless bee outside my window by a string as a sign to other bees that they best stay clear.

Painted a small bee on the side of my monitor. You know like the old fighter planes did.

Called Event to see about them replacing the glass in my picture frame. They quickly reminded me of the waiver I had to sign apon purchase excluding damage to glass, cracking of plaster and involentary bowel movements.

I dont know what id do without mine.

I think it would be way past crying.

I actually got mine some time back second hand and didnt do much research on it beforehand. Ever since i replaced my waveterminal with this its just run so smooth. I actually manage to get alot more out of my CPU with this plugged in than using my waveterminal.. im not quite sure why but even plugins work better with my layla 24.

It's well known that a installing a layla on your computer grows the size of the cpu, alot like the ginch's heart!

Did I ever tell you about the time that my Echo Layla 24/96 saved me from being stranded on a snowy mountain pass? Well, one time when traveling home from a business trip I encountered a snowstorm on Mount Hood about ten miles from the summit. Traffic was slow and that was making it difficult to keep my speed up for the hills. Sure enough some guy in a Honda Del sol decided to pull off the road and chain up. The only thing was that as soon as he hit the edge of the road his car stopped cold three-quarters of the way in my lane. I had to slow way down and wait for traffic to go around. Well that was the capper and to make a long story short I ended up sliding off the road and into a rock with my right rear tire. I thought, this is not so bad. I can get going again but, when I started to go I heard something rubbing. Well sure enough I had broken my rear strut and my tire was rubbing in the fender well. When I slid under the car to look I noticed that the strut was held in place by two bolts. I thought…..what can I do???? It was then that I remembered that I had my Echo Layla 24/96 in my trunk and a small tool kit. I thought what are the odds I could bolt the Echo Layla 24/96 in the place of my strut? Well long story short it fit perfectly!! I got it bolted up just before it got dark and hit the road. I could not believe it. The Echo Layla 24/96 was holding up to all the potholes and in fact my car was riding better than ever before! I made it off the mountain and was able to sleep in my own bed instead of freezing on the side of the road. It took me about a month to get the money to replace my strut but, the Echo Layla 24/96 help up great. When I did get it back into my studio, it purred to life with out a glitch. I was amazed and I truly believe that the unparalleled construction quality of the Echo Layla 24/96 likely saved me from freezing to death that night.

I honestly have not had my hands on one. If the converters are still up there in quality and the drivers are as trouble free you'll be very happy. Let me know how you like it.

Now I don't know if the audiofire would be able to save you from freezing on the side of a snowy mountain pass or not though.

I'm fairly cocky when it comes to that, having outrun an avalanche near Alta Utah in a beat-up '76 crap brown Corrolla wagon. (Felt sorry for the folks in the brand new accord coupe that was totaled behind me.)

Ya I just upped my count to two. Working great. I can finally record my drumers set with a mic on every drum! Now I need a bigger snake and board. It never ends ;)

was that cheaper than using the optical to get you another 8?

I paid $250 U.S. I could have got one cheaper but, this one was in the box with everything. That just makes me feel better.

I could have got a used ADAT for a little cheaper and ran it in but, then I'm stuck with 16 bit, plus it's big and Ugly:D

If your patient you could get a layla used for less on ebay pretty easy I think.
