ok, i was wondering if anybody out there could help clean up this "final" mix. its at www.nowhereradio.com/emopunker in the singles. song is radio. any help/feedback/extra orchestration is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Needs bass and drums man...

interesting lyrics...

could use some grunge guit too....

a bit too much on the vox effects man...maybe just too much reverb....some pitch issues on the vox and some timing issues on the guit....pretty cool tune though...there is a bit of clipping on the strumming part of the acoustic....around 2:47 is most noticeable...
(I finally know what clipping is so yeah...it's clipping Chris and Bruce :D )

ok, i finally got some leave from the air force. when i get to alaska i will add some more stuff to this. does anyone think adding a distorted guitar in the mix might be able to cover some of the clipping on the acoustic? how bad/good are the vocals, when are they really off key/pitch? should i just scrap this mix and make a whole new one?

who originally did this song? i know that line "shaking like a dog shitting razor blades." it's one of those bands that sounds like saves the day, but i can't remember who it was.

Ummm...I would redo it all personally.
Take it easy on the effects and try to sing into the mic with a more consistent volume, get a windscreen, and maybe look into vocal lessons.

first of all: you can not sing. quit alluding yourself.

secondly: the lyrics are distracting. you, sir, are no kurt cobain.

thirdly: your guitar playing is decent, but if you learned to play the drums you would have a better chance of actually playing music in a live setting.

I didn't listen.. but that lyric is from Alkaline Trio's "Radio".

I don't think they sound anything like Saves The Day. :)

ok, i never said i could sing, but however, alluding that i can sing? everything on here was one take which explains the clipping and vocal pitchiness. well i can't sing anyway. can anyone explain why you might be able to sing alone or along with a cd but when i t comes to playing you can't stay in tune/pitch? not to mention i recorded this in less than a half hour (i was on lunch break back in august and just now really got a chance to check this out since ive been through basic training and tech school for the past six months). oh by the way same person that said i was alluding yourself, i didn't write the song and matt skiba (the guy who wrote it) is nothing like kurt cobain. but atleast i got comments that my guitar playing was decent.

To make your recording better. Spend $15 bucks on a pop filter. Lay off the flanger on the voice.

Secondly.... you gotta find a singer..... or decide that it's just a hobby. Hey I can't sing either.... every band I've ever been in has insisted that I only sing AFTER midnight. But what I learned a long long time ago from personal experience... is that you can take an average band with a real good singer and people will stay and listen all night. But you can have a great band with a bad (or to drunk) singer.... and they'll go home after the first set.

And in this case.... there isn't even a great band to go with it.
