What the hell happend to the link in my 3rd reply? Weird!!!
I've had a Gotham matched-pair of 103s with consecutive serial numbers and all the major accessories, all in a Neumann flightcase, since a couple months after they were released.
Like the current 414s, the 103 is something people either like or don't like. Obviously, I fall into the catagory of liking them.
They are my all-around stereo-pair work-horses for stereo miking an
acoustic guitar and as drum kit overhead pair. They seem to either work or not work on a vocal (it's very obvious when they do and when they don't), and I can count on them to give me a good track to work with when I need an additional large diaphragm mic to throw-up on something when most of my others are already in use.
Their performance to price ratio almost seems right to me, not quite though, not when you consider others that are out there. Same could be said for the B-ULS. But most of it is STILL due to the simple fact that it has "414" in the model number and the 103 has "Neumann" on it.
Now with all that said, over the next year or two, I'm looking to replace their all-around stereo-pair work-horse job with a matched-pair of small-diaphragm omnis. I still won't sell them though! Okay, so I would if they had held their value MUCH better! But the grey market killed ANY chance of that happening for ALL Neumanns!!!
