Master Baiter
looking! :D

I wandered in there today while waiting for my wife. They had these on sale for $15, and I just couldn't help be impressed by the looks/price ratio. I'm sure its sound is less than impressive, but I like the design.

We don't need music stores when we've got Radio Shack... How does it sound?

God that's gorgeous! And to think I just threw away the stereo electret I bought in 1978 for $29.95 =sniff= You could tell it was high quality because it had 1/4" plugs instead of minis.

Maybe I'm crazy but I've got two radio shack mics that definitely have some good use to them. One is a dynamic omni that sounds pretty cool. A little lo-fi but definitely usable. The other is a basic "look sort of like a 58" mic. I was using as a talk back when the bands were asking what mic I was using because it sounded really good. And, well it does so I'm going to use it when it's needed.

is that thing XLR connection?
Nope - 1/4" phone plug. But it's low impedance - 500 ohms. It has a pronounced proximity effect, but doesn't sound too shabby (in a noisy listening environment.)

Ya gotta admit...it's the purttiest durned $15 mic I've ever seen.

It might even sound good...It looks like the kind Milli Vanilli used to use. ;)

Thanks for pointing that out - I hadn't noticed. It looks sort of hetero to me.

You're kidding, right? That mic is a flamer if there ever was one.:p

You're not related to the girl with no gaydar, are you???

OK...seriously...kidding aside...how does it sound?

So... ummm... you bought it because of the way it LOOKS?
I think the $15 dollars also had something to do with it. :)

I picked up a couple of Stageworks dynamics for 9 bucks a pop at Sam Ash a while back...one them is in constant use.

Admittedly, it's on my desk as a talkbalk mic, but... :)

The mic actually doubles as a gaydar - it's best used intrarectally in the vibrating mode. But I'm sure you already knew that.

Well, shit yes! How else would you choose a mic?

People get married for the same reason. Often with similar results. And just 'cause it's pretty doesn't mean it's gay. Don't hate it 'cause it's beautiful.

Could be a good looking useful gem, like this piece. So highly regarded that Fletcher keeps it on his site, and yet pretty to look at and reasonably priced.
