I have just moved into a new house, and there are 2 bedrooms. I intend to use one of them for mixing.
There will be some acoustic treatment, but not loads. I have 6 fairly large full-frequency mineral wool absorbers, at the moment. I will get some more (absorbers or diffusers), but not an awful lot.
Here are the measurements:
room1:
3.6m high
4m deep
3.8m wide
room2:
2.45m high
3.8m deep
3.4m wide
both rooms have plastered walls, and carpeted floors. Room1 is a bit more symetrical in terms of window placement, and it's further from the main road. At the moment, however, it has a very long reverb time, and very noticable flutter echoes.
Based on room modes and such, which room will be preferable after some moderate treatment?
