Welcome to the club Zeke. Actually youll find that there are many young people hear. Im 17 and started recording when i was fourteen. Ive been recording now professionally for two years now and i probably couldnt have done it without this forum. So i would also like to thank everyone in this forum for answering my questions for me (i know i can be a huge pain in the butt sometimes :D).

Now ive got my own studio at my own place with walls and stuff, 15 ft by 25 ft, with a Mackie 1604 VLZ mixer, Nuendo recording computer that can handle around 32 tracks 24bit, 11 SM57s, AT4033, Senheiser e602, 2 ECM 8000s, 5 headphones with headphone distributor, Tannoy Reveal monitors, and a Mackie 1400i amp which i also use for live stuff, and i charge $25 an hour for recording.

Keep going and i promise you will eventually get better, and the key is to stick around hear and read as much as you can and listen to the genious's here. I dunno if your planning on recording for a living or not but if you start recording people for money even at $5 or $10 an hour and your good at it, and then put the money you earn back in the studio, eventually you will obtain much gear ;). Also, go to your local local band concerts and let people know you can record, its the best way to find people that want to record for less money but decent quality. I started out with a computer, a delta 44 (which i spent long hours earning) and the help from a friend with is mixer and his few 57s. Then most important, reading as much as i could here and everywhere else on the net.

Again, thanks again everyone in the forums. If i didnt have this forum i wouldnt be anywhere. Thanks.

Darnold
