I have been looking at the aardvark Q10 on ebay, however I am a bit weary to buy one because aardvark went out of buisness. When I was looking for reviews and stuff I stumbled upon this. I feel more confident in buying something that is still arround, and has current driver support and all that junk, and I dont mind spending the few extra dollars. But, I dont have a firewire card, and I know nothing about firewire. So heres my question to you: Would it be worth it to get the firepod and a firewire card OR just get the aardvark? Thanks.

Also, if anyone has any experiance with either of them, good or bad, please let me know. :)

i don't think firewire cards are that much.
that said, i would definately go with the firepod.

Firewire cards are very inexpensive. That being said, I have a Q10 and love it. The fact that they're out of business could potentially work to your advantage, as the Q10 should be much cheaper now than the firepod. That's probably the only advantage at this point.

What exactly is firewire? anyone?

Firewire is a type of connection from outboard gear like a DAW into your computer. Similar to USB but I believe it is quicker.
