I have a dilemma - laptop sheeyat

I just got a new laptop and I've purchased the Audigy 2 ZS notebook with it. I've been recording with my desktop but I want to be mobile and ninjalike with this new setup. I have two TRS outs on my preamp and they need to go into the one S/PDIF optical in on the ZS notebook. Suggestions?
 
Your preamp outputs an analog signal, and the s/pdif expects a digital signal, so you need an a/d convertor of somekind.

If your laptop has a firewire port, the easiest solution is to get one of the many firewire interfaces available. Something like the Presonus Inspire comes with a couple of preamps, 4 inputs, a/d convertors, Hi-Z inputs, headphone outs etc. For less than $200 you can be extremely mobile, bordering on ninjalike
