So what do i do now? Buy an M-audio Revolution 24/96khz or audiophile sound card and a mic and start recording???

What other gear do i need? mixer? power amp?

Will the Soundcard word as a mic power amp?

Should i buy a powered mixer? Or a tube mic power amp?

Should i buy an MOTU setup(Is this designed like PT to interact with my computer?)??
Pro tools??(expensive i know, but this is not just a hobby, i demand the best sound possible no matter what the cost(unless its 10k+ for one piece of gear :()

Was looking at a Korg D32XD/D16XD or a Roland VS2480CD equivalent instead of going the comp recording route.

I have a pretty extensive knowledge of sound and guitars/amps, and not too bad at using computers for recording, ive just been using crap soundcard and crap mic direct into the soundcard for recording, it sounds horrible, i don't think my SC(at the moment) can even give enough phantom power to power my mic.
I have a boss br-1180 too. But comp sound recording sounds more versatile and the boss is horrible.

Right now we are just going to be recording guitar/vocal tracks, but in the near future we want to do live room recording(bass, 2 guitars, drums, 2 vocal mics...) And in about 4 years i plan to have a pro setup bought and know how to use it well.

Thanks in advance!!!

P.S. I have no love for MIDI or sub par Digital effects. I am an analogue junkie. I have never had a good digital effects pedal.

If you are an analog guy, get a goodmixer with quality preamps (vlz pro series) and run the line out straight to your soundcard line in. You dont need any other stuff.
