and I'm willing to pony up $300 more.

I have on order a Focusrite TwinTrak.

I have:

RME Fireface 800
Rokit 8 Monitors
Soundcraft M8

AT4040
SP B1
Shure SM58, SM57
Audix D6
Oktava MK012, MK319
Sennheiser e835

Is the Focusrite the best way to spend my money?

I was also thinking of the Grace 101.
A good dynamic vocal mic (SM7b)

Anything else?

Thanks.

Nice lil' gear hook-up U got goin' on there whatta'!
Since I own a Grace 101 and have been impressed with it's overall perf, obviously I will recommend the unit just the same as another will opine getting the Focusrite, Mindprint, Meek, Seb etc. All good choices.

Your mic arsenal is on point also containing quality dynamics (Shure 57 &58),
hi-sens condensors like the AT4040 & B1 and excellent overall perfmr's such as the Oktava's (luvvvv that M012), so yeah, invest your "oil profits" in a quality pre! Again, I praise the Grace's clean, & non-coloration. Silky-smooth in DI format ('specially on percussive, slap-bass & rhythmic git) and sweetly freaky-nice on omni's & cardioids! Just my opini-onion!!! :o

Thanks...I was originally thinking of the Grace as well, but I heard that it was more of a instrument pre. Opinions?

Thanks again.

What are you other options for pre's? What are you looking for? I can tell you what I like for what purpose, but without knowing what you're trying to do with it I can't be much help. The Focusrite Twintrak is two channels with extras while the 101 is a more basic pre. The twintrak might compare better to the 201. I would say that for the price of one channel you're paying more with the 101, and I would also argue that it'll likely be a better pre than the twintrak, but that's purely on reviews and rep.

Other options I would consider in order of preference(but this is only what I want in and around there...): Mindprint Envoice, Toft EC1, RNP.

I'm mostly looking for a pre for vocals. But if it can do instruments, that's a plus.

Thanks.

BTW, my credit is with SamAsh...they don't have a RNP. :(

Samash has the Brick (Groove Tubes) or Summit Audio 2BA221 Mic and Line Preamp either one would be great for you

I live in Sammy's. They can order you an RNP as I got my 1st RNC from them.

Thanks! I just called my rep, and I decided to get the RNP/RNC combo.

Fantastic choice my friend! The RNC is hands down the best pre in it's price range, and the RNP is very well respected. You're probably not going to regret your choice at all.
