I saved more money for school then I actually needed (hurray for scholarships) so now I have some extra cash to spend. I'm just not sure what to get first.
At the moment I have a Line 6 toneport interface and some crappy microphones. I've been recording myself playing guitar (both electric and acoustic) and recently vocals for the past few years as a hobby and am looking to make things a bit more professional. I'll probably invest in a maudio Delta 1010LT (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Delta1010LT.html) a few months from now (unless someone recommends a better interface) so I'm mostly interested in buying some powered monitors and microphones. I don't plan on recording drums or anything anytime soon so I only really need one input.
What are some good mid price range monitors and microphones that I should look at buying? Is there any other gear I should also look at? I'm still pretty new to home recording and don't want to overspend on something I don't really need or underspend and end up upgrading something half a year from now. I'm interested in keeping everything digital and computer based because I also use a lot of electronic/synthy stuff in the music I write.
Thanks in advance!
