Well, im using yamaha 4416 and I was wondering if After I have recorded my song and burned it using the cd rw drive witht the yamaha, could I put that cd in my comp and get those files and edit it using like cakewalk or cubase or something?? ok thx!!

If you can save each track into a *.wav file (or mp3, etc.) then you can import it into other programs on your computer. However Im not familiar with the 4416. Id be quite surprised if you couldnt

If you burn an audio CD, you can edit the material on your computer. The editing, however, will be limited to the entire song rather than individual tracks. You would need software to extract the file (something like Toast) and some type of editing program (Cubase, for example).

As Scinx points out, you may also be able to transfer individual tracks for editing, probably in the form of Wav files. I assume that the AW4416 can backup program material to CD, but check the manual. A slow but useful download is available at www.aw4416.com. (It's a 280 page PDF file so it takes a while!).

If the aw4416 does not transfer files via cd, see if this function is available through an SCSI output. Again, check the manual.
