i'd like to know what's up also. it's been many times when i've thought of giving up on something but the people around me kept me going, so maybe that's what you need...let us know what's going on with you and maybe we can offer some assistance.
 
I'll just say I need a break.This is a messed up business.I don't have the temperment at times for some of the bullshit. Nobody's serious.Nobody wants to take chances.Its too crowded now.I want to focus on the promoting and caberet throwing.I never knew there were so many fakes in this world.Good luck to everybody here.
 
GL man, I dont post too much, but im going to miss having you around and peeping your music. Every time I listened to some of your cuts it was like "Wow, hes working hard to create his own style". Kind of an inspiration :). GL with you and hope to see you back soon

You should have known that from jump! I'm sure you have heard that you have to deal with alot of lies, misleading, and just bad contracts all together. That is the nature of the business, that is why I only do it For Fun...
Take a break and come at it from another angle and with a different mindset. Have fun with it, don't take it too serious......And if it blossoms into something, then Good! If not, you had fun!
I use music as a source of ventilation and expression. It gives me a high to create things from scratch.....(Like drugs....... And it is addictive too, because you still want to get that perfect take!)
Just take your experiences, learn from and move on.............

That's part of the life of this industry. The only way to survive, is to don't let it get you down. There's always gonna be the real niggaz out there in this game, and the fakes. If you know your real, and you are real, than keep your head up and keep moving forward dogg. I've been through a whole lotta shit, and I dropped everything I "knew" about the game, and kept going foward, with everything I know now. Hard to explain son. The music industry game, is still the same 20 years ago, as it is now. Some of use wasn't alive & in that game back then , but it was also hard on them too. I gotta short fuse son, I gotta prevent myself from outburst that can get someone hurt. If I quit today, than EVERYTHING I worked HARD for, would go to waste. I've gone too far, and I'm sure you have too. EVERYTHING, all your efforts, all your music, those times when you finish something, and bump it so the world can hear, your FIRST track ever, EVERYTHING would go to waste son. Don't let that happen. There's too many fake ass dumb fuck artists/producers out there. This game today, is RIPE. Anyone can take it. So why not any of us?? Keep ya head up. ONE
 
you'll be back trust me that...once youve been bitten you are infected..i thought about quitting a few months ago..because i was so fucking fed up with my shitty quality..then i heard one instrumental and it changed my perspective and got me thinkin..listen to stuff if your frustrated somethin might inspire you again...

Reek this is what is true....The first time I heard you I knew you had skills and I can honestly say that I am hopin to see you hit the big time one day but you gotta keep the fire lit don't let it go out. whatever it is that got u like this brush that shit off and be easy for a few. then re-collect yourself and get back to doing your thang...cuz for real I was honestly thinkin about quittin this ish too until i read this thread and seen that i'm not the only one that feels this way and also the reaction of other people got me thinkin differently. I been in slump for about a month now and have made 1 or 2 beats total and when i listen to them i myself feel they are garbage, but somethin keeps me goin and thats my luv for the game. I get mad everytime i hear chicken soup or that british chick on the radio but those are one hit wonders and i remind myself that i'm not an artist i'm a creater. but right now i'm just not makin any sense i don't think? so i'mma end it wit this...P.M. me and let's get some collabo goin and we can talk business too if u want, cuz i'm feelin your style and i know i could learn a lot from you so stay up and keep doin your thang

Welcome to the music industry... :o You will find folks who never keep their word or fake. But, you will learn to spot those kind of people a mile away and not pay attention to them. You will learn to spot snakes in the grass before it bits you. Be your own boss and take control. If you got good skills/ service and someone flakes or tries to get over, cut them off and move on. Trust me, those people will see you agian and you will be on top.

It takes a certain person to be in this industry. If you love music and have the drive/ passion, don't give up... I can't count how many times I wanted to give up because of bad business from other cats, or I just couldn't get something right. But, if I gave up where would I be? Not where I am now. In the music industry, only a small % really make it big. It's a lotto. But, you have to have that drive and passion. It's in your blood to finish the race and have success. That's who makes it. You keep knocking down the door until it falls! Even water can cut stone to nothing over time.

This 2007 is going to be big! Can't tell you what it is yet. And it was a 10 year journey of hard times and stress... But, this is for my family and future children down the road. Sometimes it takes one person to go through all the hardships to make sure the family down the road is taken care off.

So, do what you gotta do. Even if it aint music...

Stay up...

Dang reek! Where you goin off to? We gone miss ya fam. I feel like giving up alot of times too because alot of folks will try to take advantage of my talent. But, all i have to do is hear a nice jazz piece and i'm fully inspired again. Don't give up on your dream man. Take a break then come out the gates swinging fists! God Bless.
 
here is my 2 cents - DO PROMOTING - you may actually find that once u get into it, u do find SERIOUS PEOPLE - it might be just the door u've been lookin for - besides, if its really IN U to make beats, . . . after a while, that itch a come back - when it does, u will have "mastered" (maybe) antoher skill which can still drive your music business needs thru the roof

And whoever gave me the neg rep point: "It doesn't break me of knowing who I am". I have an my own outlook on how things are in the business, I have both heard and been a part of bad business deals. If I can share my opinion and it helps, then good! I've been there before, that is why I do it just for fun now.... You don't have to agree, that is why this forum has dialogue open for opinions. Hell, I know it's been said before but welcome to the industry. If you come into the industry strictly for profit, then you're in for the wrong reason. I feel you though. I mean, I'm on a music hiatus right now while I get some things in order in my life, but I know that when I come back new tracks are going to make the older stuff look like child's play.

Seriously homie, you just have to find your niche in the business. Some people can wear two or three (or more) different hats and work with it easy. You can't let personal feelings and opinions get involved when you handle business, in this or any other industry.

I'm not going to tell you to quit or keep it movin'. That's your own decision and anyone who tries to do otherwise should know better. Here's my advice to you. You get a faker, you find out he's a faker, you move on from the faker and keep hustling until you find someone real. Welcome to sales and in this game, you're selling yourself. You're gonna get a lot of no's and maybes before you get that solid yes. You get that solid yes then you bust ass to make that good clientele and get references off that cat. Feel me. It's not enough to just have good product, you have to be able to present it to make the next person crave that shit to where he's GOT to have it and can't live without that shit. Just like crack rocks.

Thanks Fam.I'm still doin my thing.Its my area that has me frustrated.I'm not stoppin but I will be a better judge of people.Its real hard now in my city and people are half steppin.They dont have the same motivation that I have.i wouldve been satisfied bein local but I get more love from everywhere else.Damn shame.This is a self hating place.If you from here you ain't gon make it.That's what people think.But I still keep reppin.Guess I'm a have to prove them wrong.
