hi there, thanks for checking this out. i have a problem with sonar at the moment. i've tried everything the hepfiles suggest for dealing with droppouts as this seems like a system resources problem. basically what happens is when i get a few audio tracks running sonar will start playing and then i am unable to stop it. the meters for cpu doesn't go above 50% and the disk meter rarely gets anywhere near 50% so i'm not sure what the problem is. i have checked all the settings in audio options but still no joy. it's a bit confusing as i would have assumed it was a cpu/hard disk overload but the meters aren't getting much past 50%. my system profile is:

800 mhz athlon
256 mbram
abit raid board (not using raid)
7, 200 rpm hard disk

if anyone has a similar system i would be interested to hear how you have your buffers set and other audio options. or if anyone could suggest anything i would be very grateful.
thanks for any replies in advance,
cheers

It would be helpful to know what sound and video cards you are running, and also what drivers.

Also, is the problem that you can't stop it at all, or is there just a long delay between when you click the stop button and when it stops? If it's a delay, it sounds like it could be a video acceleration problem. You might try lowering your video acceleration settings to see if it improves.

i knew i'dforgotten something!

thanksfor the reply, my soundcard is turtle beach pinnacle and my video card is a tseng labs s3 card. sonar will keep playing until the end of the track and when the track is finished will let me have control after about 20 seconds. but i cant stop it until after it reaches trhe end of the track. i am running direct x 87 and the most recentturtle beach drivers (which are a fdew years old!)
any other help much appreciated, let me know if u need any more info
thanks
