I can't stand the natural sound of my guitar

I love the sound of electric guitar just the way it is. . . I don’t want an electric guitar to pretend that it’s a bucket, or president, or in love with another guitar. I just want it to be a guitar . . .

i think your guitar is cheating on you.... or it may be a guitar impersonator, boy , I've been fooled by a couple of those in the past.....

OK MS- first, take 2 fire crackers (I recommend Black Cat). Put one in each ear and light them. Now wait- After the surgery and therapy, eventually you will get *some* of your hearing back. When you can finally hear that guitar, even a little, you will be so happy to be able to hear anything at all that it will sound good. If it ever stops sounding good, do it again.
That's basically what happened to me, although I didn't place the explosives myself.-Richie

My right ear is infected and has lost most of its hearing; should I try playing left-handed

No just listen right handed, don't plug it in and don't shoot for that Metheny sound.
