I have all this equipment and wanted to convert to a computer based studio but I'm having trouble hooking everything together to use midi. So far i have the following

Yamaha AW1600 Digital Recorder
Korg Triton LE - 61 key
MPC 2000XL
Korg Electribe EMX 1
Lexicon MX200 Dual Effects Process
M-Audio Midisport 4 port hub

Basically I'm trying to chain them all together to work using either Acid Pro, Cubase SL or Project 5. any guidance is appreciated.

Hook ups

I am new to this scene as you are....I just went thru the hook up of midi stuff. Basically its called Daisey Chaining, Midi out to Midi in to Midi Thru to Midi In.

Ok, so is it better to chain them if I have a 4 port midi box? I bought the box but it seems I have problems seeing all the different inputs when i look at it in the PC. I appreciate the help man. I really really do. I've been doing patchwork recordings and think that the midi flexibility will really enhance my recordings.

It's better not to chain them. You may need to experiment with settings in your software and the midi box you have. If even one setting is not right it might not work.

I don't own your particular setup, so I can't offer more specific advice than that, sorry.
