Hey everyone,

I need help, I just downloaded cubase VST24...I know next to nothing about this program. For some reason, when I import a MIDI file and play it back, the "LED's" and such move and it tells me that there is output, yet I hear nothing. My speakers and external audio work fine, everything is in proper order, so I know nothing is broken. Can anyone explain what I need to do to hear sound! or maybe just explain to me how I can set it all up for recording? thanks!

I'm going to try to get this right. I'm kinda new to midi myself.

-Make sure that your sound card supports midi. Most consumer type sound cards support general midi (GM) & some like soundblaster support soundfonts as well. These are the sounds that you need to hear the midi pattern. The pattern itself contains no sound. does that make sense? hope so.

If you have some VST instruments within your cubase program,
-Try this: from your drop down menu,
select Panels > VST Instruments.
select a VST instrument & turn it on (The red button top left corner)
-select the midi track that you have imported the midi info onto.
-On the left side of the track, you should see track info
-select the output window. A drop down box shoudl appear with different output sources. Select the output source named after you VST instrument.
-If you have preset sounds for your VST instrument, you can select them in the patchname window.

-press play & see what happens.

I hope this helps some
