hi,
i have an old sonar file with midi data and audio tracks that i wanted to record again after a while. i do everything necessary to set up the recording (i.e. arming tracks, setting up inputs, etc.) and i select the few midi tracks to record. when i press record, i can see the record meters moving as if it were picking up some audio data from my midi keyboard, but when i stop the recording, there is an audio clip that shows up, but with no visible wave oscillations in the newly recorded audio clip (and when i play the audio track, there is definitely no sound).
ok, so i try it again, this time the record meters don't even show, as if it were NOT picking up any audio data from my midi keyboard, and when i stop recording, no audio clip even shows up. odd...
so finally, i thought of something: to copy all of the midi data and paste it onto a new sonar file. i add an audio track and do the same process: it records and an audio clip shows and wave thingies are there and when i play the clip, i can hear things! so i'm happy, then i save the file. it happens again: the first recording after save makes an audio clip with no wave thingies, the second recording after save doesn't even make an audio clip at all.
i've had this problem for a very long time and the ways i've fixed it before was by messing around with sonar's audio options, randomly doing the wave profiler thing, just about anything, and magically it would work. but i wish to get rid of this problem once and for all, or at least to KNOW EXACTLY what to do when it happens again.
can anyone PLEASE help me? thanks
