The story:

I record funny gaming montages/videos on youtube for a living,i just bought a new gaming laptop (i7 4 cores - 3.5ghz,32 gb ram,gtx 980 8gb ) to record/upload videos when i travel, the laptop works fine the only problem is the sound : which is really LOW ,it has WIN10 home , realtek sound + dolby audio as a standard from factory, but it's shit, really low , i have to scream to hear myself properly , before to install a driver update from RealTek i tried like 5 brand new mics and webcams on it and all the same, really low sound,so i installed the driver(RealTek HD Audio last version),and then i got mind blowed by the sound power of my laptop, but then this happens:|when i tried to record some gaming footage i can only hear myself on the left side of my headset/headphones again i changed mics/webcam mics nothing, same thing

What i use to record my games: Fraps,BandiCam,XSplit GameCaster,i tried to change them and i tried some other recording programs from google but the sound recorded from my mic only goes into the left channel of my headphones not in both of them

What mics i use : Neumann U 87 Ai Switchable Studio Microphone,Blue Yeti

What webcams i use : HD USB Webcam,Microsoft Lifecam,Logitech HD PRO

What headphones i use : Razer,Kingston HyperX Cloud,Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D Omega,Steel Series,Sennheiser GAME ONE nowdays

Now i know about Adobe audition and it fixes that if i record the sound though it and other programs but i don't have the time to render the sound again as i'm rendering 5 hours already in sony vegas for 1 video on my pc which works really well with the same webcam, mic, recording programs that i tried on laptop
I know about adaptors as well but i don't have the time right know and i really need a quick fix,any help is really appreciated

Thanks

Typically you'll get your recorded track on one side or the other when you record a mono source to a stereo track. When creating a new track in Audition/Vegas/whatever, be sure it is a mono track.

Also, you posted the same question several times. Please just post once. I deleted your other threads.

Hi there Chili, thanks for your reply, okay before installing the new driver i didn't had this problem at all,it was automatically recorded on both sides, now for example, in sony vegas/audition/whatever it is fine but i the problem is that when i record my voice in a game and i use fraps or other gaming recording device i can only hear it on the left side and i want to change it to hear for both sides without having to edit it the second time in sony vegas/audition and i don't know how to do that, the gaming recording softwares don'tt have these settings,i'm saying this because it's saving more time because sometimes i'm only using raw footage for my videos,it is already high quality recorded 60fps/1080p full hd without using other programs to edit it as it doesn't need, on my laptop original factory settings it records on both sides in without an issue just the sound is too low...

also

How do i adjust adudacity or adobe audition when i'm doing a live stream for the sound to come on both sides not just one , thanks

On my pc it works fine i can record using only fraps for example and i can hear it on both sides without having to edit the video again

And sorry for my other topics,i'm really stressed out right know

I'm kind of repeating what was said already, often in recording software it will create a stereo track...so you will hear it through one side (because you have a mono mic). You need to figure out how to make it a mono track sometimes theres a button on the mixer channel strip?(inside your DAW) looks like 2 overlapping circles.

Tommorow at 8 in the morning i'll be at a computer shop to buy an adaptor , if that doesn't work , i'll throw this laptop on the ground and destroy it with my chainsaw, then set it on fire and make some eggs on top for breakfast, anyone wants to see video of that ?

Thanks all for the support

Hi John...

You stated you have a Blue Yeti and a U87Ai. The Yeti is a USB mic which connects via USB. How are you getting the U87Ai into the laptop? I don't see a USB interface mentioned (I may have missed it in the post).

Is the problem with both mics above or just one?

In Audacity stereo tracks can be set in preferences so when recording starts it'll be stereo. Perhaps Audition is similar. Not sure if this helps or not. Audacity can not use USB ASIO drivers and would use Windows audio stuff, which may have some setting buried in a Windows control panel.

Realtek may have a control panel where recording gain can be increased for the Mic input (would not affect a USB mic or interface).
