I bet I'm the stupidest person on this entire message board.

These people seem pretty cool actually. They are charging me $6. Neat little shop where a bunch of engineers sit around burried up to their eyeballs in electronics.

The goodwill that they generated by charging you very little for fixing your amp far outweighs the monetary gain they would have gotten by soaking you, and good techs know this. The guy I use (Chuck at Guitar Resurrection in Austin) has fixed amps for me very cheaply when he could have padded the charges and I'd have never have known the difference, and that's why I keep going back to him.

No doubt about it. I will most definitely go back to this place. I will also recommend them to others. In fact I'll do it right now just in case anyone lives in my area:

I dunno. I'm 47 and in all that time, have not been able to figure a way out of wasting my valuable time "working" for a living. Also, it took me more years than I care to admit before forking out the bread for decent guitars and amps. For what has been a life-long interest, I spent to much time skimping on gear.

Stupidest person here? I somehow doubt it mate.

those kinds of things happen man. Not stupid ..... it just didn't occur to you.

My favorite story like this was a long time ago when a bass players' amp wouldn't come on. Turned out he had it plugged into its' own convenience outlet.
