What is this a Drum pad for your computer?

Although I have not used this piece, it certainly seems like a good addition for the price. I think I'll pick one up just because........................................

WHat's this???!!!??? New toy???

Hey...WHAT is it...looks pretty neato. Hmmm? I think i may want one...can someone give me a product description and why it could be useful. :D

<sigh>

I'm a drum machine junky and I'm proud of it.

Despite the redundancy ( I have puh-lenty of pads to bang on if I wanna real-time beats), I'm ordering one of these jammies today. I guess I'll use it to trigger drum kits on my keyboards - the keys don't offend me, but DAMN, those pads feels sooooooo nice. I wouldn't trade my RS for an MPC for the world, but I can't front on the groovy Akai pad action. The ONLY flaw with my RS is that the pads don't have that sticky-rubbery feel. I'm STILL kicking myself for selling my MPC60 422 moons ago.

I'm a drum machine junky and I'm proud of it.

I guess it's just made for people who like the pad-action, but don't have any dedicated drum machines to beat on. Again, I don't fall into that catagory, but fuck it, I'm puttin' my two seventy five on it at lunch time and celebratin' with a pair of deuce-deuces.

I'm a drum machine junky and I'm proud of it.

My name is Lazi and i'm a drum machine junky. :)

MPC,DR5,DR660,DR202,DM5,RM50....And those pads seem like a good thing for me to have. I think i got a problem. Nah.

DOLO i have a RM1X. I think those pads on the RS are like the ones on the RM. You should try not to use those buttons to play ny note data. My buttons have started going bad and now it's harder to switch tracks and do mutes and all. Most definetly don't wanna be banging your drums on those hard keys. The buttons will last longer if used just for sequencer operations and simple programming. I use the now 202 or just use a keyboard. Peace.

Nice to meet you and shit...

Yo Lazi,

glad to know I found a brother in you. :D
This is the only support group I know of where all us addicts can get straight fucked up and stay in the program. If only I could leave these black & milds alone...

'Preciate the heads up on the RS pads. I peeped that shit soon as I cracked the box open. I've been using my other toys to bang out beats and shit via midi. Yamaha really fucked up the church's money on the button tip. That's why I ordered the MPD (well, the only pseudo-justifiable reason I could come up with anyway). Could've used a new budget bass guitar and a micro synth, but fuck it. The beat goes on...

Oh, nice lil' collection you got there, maybe one day we can trade some secrets. My latest addition is this joint called an Machinedrum. I bought it about 9 months ago. It wasn't cheap, but I swear it's worth every muthafuckin penny. Number 87 of the first batch of 100. I'm a straight junkie and proud of it. The first step to recovery is admission & ownership of one's actions...

check out items 3,4, & 5 on that page

**well, I actually bought an electribe r 2 days ago just because I be feenin', but I returned it and snatched up the akai joint.**

I am about to go to Guitar Center on Friday to play with it......
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Found this out when I placed my order...

The MPD 16 runs off juice via USB. If you don't wanna use USB, then you have to spring for the power supply, too...

Flo' Dolo

Flo' Dolo, I am going to call you on my way to Guitar Center. I'll hit you in about an hour...

MPD-16 simply lovely

i got one and loving it, even more so since i've always played my drum track on the keys.
if you work with midi consider this
there is no Midi In port on the mpd 16 so you can't daisy-chain ( i was advised to get a patch bay)
That means you have to unplug the pad out of midi IN from the synth to hear your midi track playback from n-track, cuz you gotta plug the soundcard in. it's a bit annoying
and like Flo' Dolo said the AC adapter is optional so USB is your primary source of power
Believe it or not the drum kits sound nicely different coming from the pad (velocity and sensitivity might be the cause)
i'm enjoying redoing some drum tracks on my "to be developped projects"

if you don't have a drum machine get one of these and as indicated by our "Resident addicts" if you have drum machine(s) get it

Easy

I played with the MPD 16 @ Guitar Center..........

It is MANDATORY that I purchase this unit!!!!!!!!!! :D

Like L'espion said "...if you don't have a drum machine get one of these and as indicated by our "Resident addicts" if you have drum machine(s) get it "

Unless you already got an MPC...
