i am not managing to use vst instruments. i don't get any sound. if someone can please help me, i've tried everything in the operation manual. i only get sound when using the GS software synthesizer, which is very limited. i don't get sound from any other vst instruments.
no sound seems to be arriving to the stereo out track of the mixer.
i get an error saying that the asio sample rate is not supported by one of the usb interfaces, but i don't know if my vst sound problem as anything to do with this, since i get sound with the gs software synthesizer.
to tell the truth i'm getting a bit desperate .) with this, because i ve tried for days and days.
thank you in advance.

i also get another error "samplerate could not be set. this may be due to sampleclock being set to external sync". i haven't set it to external sync, in MIDI settings. is this because i use an external audio audio card. the thing is i have already tried a lot, to use external MIDI sync. but haven't managed to either. now i m trying again with internal sync. and i reset everything as it was. maybe this helps understand the problem. i ve tried all possible sample rates of my audiocard...

the thing is that for three years or a bit more, i ve managed to use vst instruments. i don't understand why they're not working. i just spent another whole night trying...

I'm sure one of the VERY helpfull & knowledgeable guys will be here soon!
in the meantime have you seen the setup guide at the top of the cubase section,, whenever something goes wrong with me i like to go back to the beginning & go thru everything & very often it's something that got changed along the way,,,somehow!!

good luck :o

sorry i'm not any help!

In a case where things used to work, and now they don't, your first step should be to check if something got messed up in your preferences folder. Happens to me quite a bit more than would like...

Follow these steps very closely HERE. Oh, by the way, this will not work from a desktop shortcut. Start Cubase from Start menu...

This LINK describes what each section of the preferences folder actually does.

If this does not do it for you, then I might suggest doing a fresh install of Cubase, and starting from square one with setup.

Which version of Cubase are you using anyway? What OS?
