noisedude New member Jun 2, 2005 #4 Erm, not 'ideally', 'necessarily'. You need a preamp for each mic you connect. Look at a Yamaha MG10/2 for a little mixer, or an M-Audio DMP-3 or JoeMeek ThreeQ for standalone pres.
