humbucker instalation question

i currently replaced the bridge position pickup out of my schecter and plan on using the "old" duncan to replace the neck pickup on an old jackson im rebuilding. Ive done the bridge neck switch out before and had no problems as long as i back the pick up off a little bit but my question is does the orientation of the pickup matter as far as the screw/slug poles go? the only reason i ask is that is has the name etched on it and would look stupid with duncan written on it upside down. if it does matter ill suck it up and stick with the upside down logo. really im just curios if anyones installed a pickup backwards like this and what the outcome would be. It will work fine either way.
There will be a slight varience in tone. A bridge pickup flipped will have less bite and vice versa on a neck pickup.
