Hum and hiss from the Quadraverb

does anyone else get this ?? Is it common for other pieces of equipment to interfere with effects?? im using the gt , but im trying to use it for vocals , are vocal effects boxes mad better , smoother , anything like that?? any help would be much appreciated..also the box sits at the top of my rack , right under a 16 channel behringer mixer , theres a bit of breathing space but not much ...

I don't own a Behringer mixer,but I remember reading several posts here by owners who said among other things that their mixers gave off quite a bit of heat,so maybe getting your Quad out from under there would help.Another thing to try is to reinstall your Quad in the rack using "Humfrees" they are little plastic corners that isolate the chassis of your gear from the other gear and the rack. They did the trick for my Midiverb IV which was also humming.Musician's Friend has 'em.Cheers!
