hub needed with HD24 to sonar??

My friends here have been helping me greatly and I thank you all. I have my Alesis hd 24 connected to my computer via an ethernet cable....trying to use Sonar. Do I need a hub?? The HD manual seems to indicate that. Or is it a special ethernet cable.. a "cross over cable" if Im not using a hub??. Im sorry after thinking about this I may be better off in the Alesis forum but if you can help that would be great.Jim

Yes! What a hub (generaly speaking) does is to cross the input signal. So you need a "crossed" cable or a hub (which will cross the signal for you)...

But then again, I don't know about the Alesis. But if you connect two or more computers together, you need to cross the signal.
