Hi there my fellow Walkers of Cake,
I was reading the chapter in my HS2004XL manual about Cyclone DXi. So I thought to myself: "Self, why not give it a go..."
I followed the instructions in the manual, I opened a new project and clicked on the Synth Rack icon. Great puzzlement in the BluesMeister household - I couldn't find Cyclone DXi.
"Oh you fool" I muttered to myself. You haven't installed it. So I inserted the HS2004XL disk and waited for the main menu to appear - but there was no mention of Cyclone DXi in the installation menu.
And what's more, Dyad DXi doesn't crack a mention in the HS2004XL manual, but I most certainly installed it from the HS2004XL CD. So what gives? Is this an oversight by CakeWalk? Is the HS2004XL manual just the Sonar 2 XL manual with a new front cover? Will there be a dedicated HS2004XL manual rather than the re-hashed Sonar 2 XL manual?
While you’re scratching your heads about that one, I’ve another problem, related to the Hey Moskus thread. I downloaded FreeFTP so that I could access the FTP site to enable me to D/L the BPOM project.
Since installing FreeFTP, whenever I switch on my PC it immediately dials-up my internet connection. I can see that bytes are being sent and received, but what’s going on here? I’ve run MSCONFIG but I can’t see any naughty progs lurking in the background. I don’t have ADSL yet, so I usually only get the dial-up dialogue box after clicking on Outlook Express or Internet Explorer.
I’m wondering if I should have clicked on the Disconnect After Download option in FreeFTP.
Do any of you chaps have any idea what’s happening and how to stop this errant behaviour?
