HS2002 won't load wave form pictures

I know I have an ancient peice of IT as my DAW (PII, 400Meg 760 Meg RAM, win 98) but it hasn't done this before....

When I load a song into HS2002, it can play back okay but the waveform pictures don't load, making it impossible to edit the tracks. There always used to be a couple of seconds gap between loading the song and then the track waveforms appearing but never like this. Even if I leave the machine loading for 30 mins+ it still doesn't load the WOV files. Even if I load a Bun file from an archive CD, it don't work.:(

Any suggestions?
 
Set PicCacheMB in the aud.ini to a 100, 200 or 500 (or whatever).
 
Thanks, Moskus, that's got it cracked!:) Is there anyway I can make the song files load faster whilst I am in the mood for *.ini tweaking?

Paul - moskus is probably right. Sonar (and probably HS2002) have a limit to how many pictures (wov's) they will store on your hard drive. That limit is set in the AUD.INI file. When you exceed the limit the program will delete the older ones and replace them with newer ones. When you re-open an older file, it will then need to redraw the .wov's, which can take a long time (although 30 mins. sounds a bit excessive). Generally if you wait long enough, they will reappear.

To change the storage settings, locate the file called AUD.INI (it's probably in your main HS2002 directory) and open it in any word processor (notepad will work fine). Find the line in the file that says "PicCacheMB=50" and change the 50 to something higher and resave the file. How high depends on how much free hard drive space you have. Try 100 to start. Or if you have a lot of free disc space, go to 200. I don't think you'll need more than that.
