Raw but not that beefy guitar sound.Nice groove you layed down.Yea,this is really dry.It needs compression and EQ,but still sounds damn good. The overall recording lacks depth and space, like a boombox recording live music...but a real, real good box.I thought I heard some slight timing issues with the drums.Love the guitars at the end.Great layering.Jammin'!!!!Needs vox to be a hit...

Juat wanted to thank all who stopped in for a listen-Alot to answer here so I'll be brief..

Track Rat-Thanks-Yeah the mp3 is screwed-if it wasnt a "dry challenge I wouldn't have submitted this.

Scott Tansley-Cool to see you stopping in-Yeah the verse is pretty ordinary-I'm still not sure if the tone/intensity thing is right-I may try less distortion-and the vocal melody might make or break it.

M.Brane-thanks for the listen-I still havent gotten down drum recording-I did push the room mic louder on this just to give it more volume w/out any compression or limiting. I do that track shifting thing-one of my latest happy discoveries.

FProd--Thanks man-yeah there are NO timing issues on this-bad mp3-I was just itchin to put something up-since it suited the latest challenge- Thats how I usually mic the drums-sometimes 2 room mics-one out front and one by the ride. I have a long way to go in getting drum sounds.

The overheads are oktava mc012's, not 319's like I said in the first post.....

Khomp-thanks for the opinion-yeah it is kind of a bland song I guess-I'm hoping the vocal melody will save it....

Teacher--thanks for listening-Damn I feel guilty I havent gotten to our collab. I'll brainstorm this weekend on it and see if anything comes to me......

Gidge-thanks for listening--drum recording is such a biatch....

Kramer-mucho appreciado-glad you like the guitar sound, since you get good guit tones yourself....They still need work but I'm on it...Umm never even heard of "Puddle OF Mud"-I wanted it to sound 50's-60's ish with heavier distortion. A few mp3 skips-the timing is right on in the wave file...

3M-yeah yeah baaaaaad mp3-I may have been pushing the limits of bad taste submitting it---oh well-The timing is fine on the wave-drums and guitar recorded together...then the other stuff added about a week ago...

J.Marcomb--thanks for stopping in...14 barre chords??? I only know 3 :D

Powder-thanks for nice comments-i'm hoping the vocals will help this one out-kind of a leftover tune.

Doug H.-Thanks for your nice comments-yeah the drums were pushed as loud as I could get em(too much so)-I was trying to pump as much volume as I could so people could actually hear the song...:D...Glad you liked the end-I call that my "bee swarm" effect lol.

Toki-Thanks as always-Yes this is definetely going to be a vocals based tune-and ya some "production value" goes a long way...

Jamal-Lol sorry this song "soiled" you-The mp3 kept messing up on the conversion-It took me 6 hours of valuable work time to rip the cda file and create the atrocity we have before us today.

Pedullist-Thanks for stopiing in-By the way-I recieved Pedullist's (Tjarko's) Cd-all the way from Holland a week ago-and it is an amazing home production-A very talented guy! If you like what you've heard from him I heartily endorse this product!! :D

JR-yo yo my chess playing friend-I've been playing alot lately-I'd love to have a game-I can play during the weekends(only time I have computer access, sadly)-lets work out the formalities and play damnit!-I'll check the voxchat for you-as you suggested last time...Oh and thanks for listening. Guitar is fender strat-marshall jcm800-sm57-into tascam board(tmd1000) into cakewalk.

FLG-yo homeboy! I'll ask the drummer specifics-but they are paiste I think-personally I like zildjian thin crashes!!!

Chrstiaan-thanks for listening-I really dont know much about Green Day-other than a song or 2 I heard on the radio-but being compared to stuff thats popular is never bad I guess :)

Brett-Me too-Good thing for cable :p

W.I.S.C.-my bong island buddy-yeah this is the kind of sound I usually work with--I played one of our tunes after a soundgarden song the other day and wanted to bust out cryin...

Thanks all.

Thanks, Jim! Very glad you like it! :D

On my end the drums sounded fine...but this is in lo-fi, so I am not sure how they "truly" sound -- lol -- :)

Very nice guitar work here. Would like to hear it again with the vocals.

:)

I haven't read anything in this thread, b/c it just fucks me up.

First, I'm not known for knowing anything about drums, but these are maybe the coolest sounding drums I've heard from you. Especially the crashes.

Guitar tones? I like them a lot when everything's going; they're mixed well, and they don't get cloudy or harsh either. Perfect. HOWEVER, when that one git is solo'd at the beginning, I think that thing needs some mids or some crunch...it just needs to sound different than it does in the mix. BUT IN THE FULL MIX, again, perfect.

@ 2:48-249 - there's a bad edit or a skip or a drum clam or something.

I listened for about :30 minutes straight, so there are other good things that I'm just not mentioning. Like the lead work on the busyish ending...
