This is me.In the back, upstairs bedroom of a 90 year old house,I played and sang thru a Sennheiser 835 into a Blue Tube Pre.Rec in Sonar 2.0 XL.NO FX on any track. No Enveloping, except on the strings...and it shows  .Here's the tune :

:( Piercing You

Since people are posting lyrics more often now;

lifted by your grace
from a vally of defeat
you hold me in your rapture
the moment our lips meet

and as i lay you down
i can feel you piercing me
if death is like this
kill me now,see me free

like a vice on my heart
and a heat in my brain
it rips my will apart
and gets me in trouble again

and as i lay you down
you can feel me piercing you
could love be like this
oh,well

you lift me from chains that drown me
in the sea of fate you found me
hoping against hope youe bound me
with your beauty that surrounds me
(Repeat last paragraph)

Thanx in advance.Any and all comments welcome

an inspiring piece. reminds you to keep in touch. I like the theme and presentation. The vocal is not quite loud enough for me. I`d like to hear a little more of the body of the guitar, it seemed to be more of the area near the neck joint. A very soothing tune guy...

Hey WISC - this is great!!
I usually find acoustic stuff like this boring. I've realized for me to like acoustic stuff it's usually either got to be "edgy" or "longing". You've done both. Great song and performance.

Vocals could come up. I like vocals buried, and this song probably should have relatively buried vocals, but these might be too buried.

Nice job! I'd give you 5 stars, but it looks like everyone has 5 stars already today.

Very cool-Some solid guitar work-alot of string slip noise but what can you do? Sounds well tracked-nice mood-damn I like this alot-A little production work on the vocals and you got a winner here. Dont change the mood you got!! This is going to be very nice when it's done. Thumbs up.

yeah vocals aer too buried...i can tell they are sweet but i have heard you before ...some of these other guys are gonna miss out!!..guitar sounds cool to me i LIKE string noise..harmonies at 2:35..sound weird....but all in all they were nice..i think posting the lyrics was a good idea ...unless you want to go back...AND BOOST THE LEAD VOCAL TRACK ...:D

ill wait.....

jamal:D

Nice tune...turn your vocals up and slap some Antares on 'em, and I'll call it a cool "B - Side."

kidding, kidding...

this could never be a B-Side :D

Nice synthwork, btw...provides "ambience" w/o being distracting...which is perfect.

Sweet tune. I really like this...I just wish the vocals were louder. They seem way buried in there.

Love the harmony and the arrangement you have going on.

Very nice!

:)

Very cool!

Needs some work on the vocal levels. The guitar is a bit boomy in the mid-bass.

I like the string pad. Nice touch.

The song itself needs nothing. Good stuff!:)

The intro sounds very Metallica to me. By any chance influenced by this band? I agree with the comments on the vox. Too buried.
Solid guitar playing!

Sorry man, just couldn't stomach it...

J/K. Ha Ha.

Seriously, very very nice. Excellent guitar work, and EXCELLENT use of strings. Great vocal tone, but tuning seemed to drift a bit - high harmonies seemed like they were on the low end of the note a lot. Verb would probably help that, but you have some S's that are borderline sibilant now, verb might push em over.

Funny, at first I thought voices were really buried, then realized my right channel was down, when I cranked both sides ("Mrs. Daf's not home now, so I can do that", he said, sheepishly), the miix was very good - plenty of bottom in the guitar, too.

I dug the string noise, too. Also noticed this didn't sound dry at all - maybe the strings helped give the illusion of space? Anyhow, only minimal tweaking needed to be radio ready.

And I didn't laugh once...:p
