Yea,rock!!!Vox a bit loud in the mix...and they don't fit proberly into the overall sound of the rest of the recording. You shoulda tried to capture that live feel like with the drums and guitars.Excellent blues work.'Hats a little prominent...You play some good-g*d-damn-blues, son!Very fun!Nice work!

Thanks Fender and Wisc. I agree about the vocals and we'll be redoing them. That's not me playing but I'll pass on the compliment. I'm just the button monkey ;)

Tex,

I'll have to have a listen when I get the PC reconnected to the audio gear here, but in the meantime.............what model Maton is Earl using...........the term "parlor" doesn't translate well into Aussie:D

Lie to myself.

Great raw tracks, man that guy can play!
Nice recording, did you use the V67?

I love this kind of stuff.
No hype,just talent!

Sounds good dry, gives it an old time feel.

Pete

Aus- He's using a EBG 808. It's part of their Bluegrass Series.

Muze- Thanks for listening. It's not me playing though ;) I used the MXL v93 and a 57 for everything there.

Tex,

Thanks for that............somehow I alrady knew that's what the reply would be. I've owned and played Matons for over 30 years.

sounds really good.....acoustics sound great, how far backed were they miced from?

....so did you use the v93 on the vocal as well?? do you use the roll off switch when you record them?

Ausrock- Those matons seem pretty nice. Earl has a bunch of nice guitars back in Australia. He's got one of only 8 made of a special Maton lap guitar. I guess Ben Harper and Jack Johnson have a few of the others.

Powder- Thanks, The acoustics were miced about 5" off of the 6th fret. The vocals on Lie was a 57 and Sunrise is the V93. The V93 helps his nasally voice alot. Sometimes I use the roll off if we do the vocals pretty close. I'm kinda schizo about the low cut and use it pretty randomly.

Tex,

Yep, those guys and a lot of other o/seas artists have purchased Matons..........dare I say, there is even footage of one being used by the Beatles years ago.

There is a distributor in the US.....www.americanmusicimporters.com
