Did I ever post one of my (not that many) seriously meant songs? hm.. whatever.

Here's what I have for the HR challenge (I hope, I did use electric piano on this, is that legally?), nothing special, didn't spent hours to get all the mics right, but I think that also contributes a little to the 'song'.

The 'song' is just an improvisation of me, every part took me 1 take, but it more because of the title of this thread.

This is the way I did it:
Drums; Beta52 just thrown in the kick
Sm58 at some spot I always use on the snare (but normally I add some eq afterwards, so it wasn't too clever now)
Two NT1's as overheads.

Then bass; contrabass as to be seen here .
NT1 in front of it (a quarter of a meter I think).

For the rest; digital piano :D sorry, I know it's not that 'nude', blame me.

Actually, it was just to keep me busy. Don't spend too much time on it. :D

ok...IT'S OFFICIAL....

I hate you.............. :D

certainly did put your time to good use...
I think the organ needs to come up a bit...
percussion is cymbal heavy...I really like the little tickle bits at the end though...kick needs some oomph.....snare is just a little muffled...nice pop to it though...

keys,....jesus that's good playing man....

arrangement...
well a sax and/or guitar wailing here and there would be super cool.....

very nice man...
I saved this one to my HD to jam to...

Take it easy
Joe

BTW..I don't hate you..I am just jealous as hell :D

Damn.

Great, just great.

All of u r doin great w/o any effects, etc - I think it just goes to show that u should only use the effects, etc at the very end after you've done everything else coz it don't always need it.

Very good F_cksia.

*downloading*

I hope you understand I'm going to rip this one to pieces....

Xander de Buisonjé....tsk tsk

:D

Damn, I like it! Lekker droog!

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrock and rolllllllllllllll! :D

It's hard to hate you, F_cksia. Sounds great.

again, I heard some timing issues...I really think you're a great drummer, creativitywise, but if you could tighten it up a little you would be A W E S O M E!!!

Thanks for the comments everyone, even though I think you spent more time on listening and typing your reviews than I did on making this 'song' (not bragging, even the opposite). Thanks!

&Pedullist; yeah I know, it is my handicap since I started drumming, but it's getting less the last few years, so I hope someday I will just be able to play a tight drumtrack.. :(

killer...

jam

Drums sounded GREAT, btw...no "across the lake" verb. lol.

Nice job :D

...uh...that's a digital piano?

ahh...you...uh...

You suck!

The drumming was the weakest part of this but it's still way tighter than mine so...

damnit!

Hee hee. What a blast.

Outside off some timing glitches (I noticed drums twice, piano once), this was perfect.

Everything blended perfectly, nice spread on the drums. I'd have mixed the bass a little higher, just to show off that I really had a contrabass...:D And the piano sounded great.

Jerry Lee F_cksia? Whaddya think?

Very well done.

Mmmm...I should go downstairs and start swinging with the little woman, eh? Nice jam, man!

Cool jammin'!

Relax, hit those drums a bit harder, and you'll be there!

Nice sounds!:)

Wow this was coooooool. Some boogie-woogie stuff from across the pond. Very cool indeed. Sounded great. Great piano stuff. And your drumming is first rate as per your usual.

Little pop at :21 (honest). Little tempo thing with the piano at about :38.

Very fun to listen to. Great. Trip...

Well alright! Damn that felt good! It's about time we had some Boogie Woogie Rock'n'Roll music around here. Warts and all, that was very cool!
