HP Pavilion

I have an HP Pavilion 8560C, 500 mhz celeron. I would like to plan a project studio, but I'm running into card problems. The Layla, for example, is not reccomended for use in Pavilion computers. Does anyone have any info as to what cards can be used with these computers? My father in law is a programmer, so dealing with the integrated sound card is not a problem.
