Okay, here's a mix of a new song I recorded for my band. I'm looking for advice/critiques. Strings and piano done by our very own zbert!

Listening now. Sounds pretty awesome. The synthy strings work well with the song. A good pop recording for sure. The heavier guitar comes through really well in the chorus'. The instrument balance and panning seems to be good.

I'd maybe say that the electric guitar in the intro and outro seems a bit high mid, low trebly. But that might be by choice.

Great song, great performances all around. And like the best rock snare sample ever. You make that sample yourself?

Yeah, it could use some EQ, I think. Then there's that buzzy thing in the intro from the electric guitar...I'm curious if I could EQ that out or at least minimize it.

That's actually a mix of the Joe Barresi snare from the Glamoflauge QuickPack by Platinum Samples and a sample from the Steven Slate 3.0 sample set. I forget which Slate sample it is, though. But it's a hybrid of the two. The direct snare track is all Steven Slate. The overheads are all Joe Barresi.

Well it sounds absolutely perfect in this mix. I love it! Keep it up Myriad. And I just read the whole first post, good job zbert!
 
This is terrific.. love the vocals!! Playing seems spot on.
My only critique...the drums have a different reverb than the rest of the mix.. a bit of a different space thing going on but that is being really picky...
great tune!

Thanks for the compliments. Different reverb huh? There's no reverb on the drums or on the mix itself...just a touch on the vocals but that's it. How do you think I might remedy the different space thing between the mix and the drums? I bet I could dial down the room mic a tad, maybe. That might be it.
 
Nice! I really like the 'under' vocals. They give it something cool. And ending with the solo vocal was neat. Mix was good.

I'd play the whole song a few bpm faster. I get its ballady, but let it rock some. Then again I'm not a rock star. ;)
