Hey All.

I posted this in the MP3 thread and i may be breaching some etiquette here but as a guitar player first and foremost could I have some one diagnose my guitar tones and write me an RX for a better sound. Is it too much of this, lacking in that, turn this down turn that up . . etc.

here is a link to the song.

Sorry for the forum overlap i just really want to get everything dialed in before i move ahead much further. Thanks A lot.

Sounds fine to me. The only thing you might change is adding a little more to the mids, but not too much and don't let it interfere with the bass. The guitars sound like strats to me. They don't sound thick like a stereotypical les paul. That said it's not really a problem it just might not sound how you imagined it would. You could also try quad tracking to thicken up the tones a little. Use a slightly different tone and then blend them together. I'd bring up the the snare a bit too.

Hey thanks.

And yea you got me actually. It isn't a real LP. An Epi Ltd Edition Flame Top. And it does sound rather thin compared to other epi's i have heard. My brother has a similar guitar and his sounds really good. But i also play a really low action, which i have been told can attribute to the thin start like sound. Double that with the stock Epi pickups? Who knows.

Could also be the separation i used on the mix down too? I only just bumped them slightly even more left and right? I think i may try boosting some bottom and mids and try again.

Thanks for your ears!
