Hi there, this is my first post, so hi!

This short clip was made in a purely digital environment, everything is DI.

I could really do with some feedback.

Thanks.

Gear used

To me, everything was jammed in the middle. I could hear everything, but it had no space, sonically, it was pretty flat. Mix wasn't like super bad, but I would go back and see if some things couldn't be opened up. Kick could use more thump, bass more hump and this would get the song out of a slump. I am trying to be Dr. Suess ;)

Nothing bad, just seems you could do a little more to get some of the instruments to come out a bit more. Let's see what others have to say. I consider myself a newb and not the best for reference for feedback.

Ha! Sick rhymes! Okay, I took your advice on board and made another mix. Defo more thump & bass I rekon. Thanks for the feedback.

OK, dude, much better. Now let's see if we can dial it in a bit. OK, need the bass drum to thump more (try some compression to raise it up), Bring your bass up to give more bottom but start to slope off around I would say 150, experiment, but it was starting to rumble a bit.

I think this is becoming much better. Guitar becomes repetitive, but if you are going to add something over top of that, then it makes sense.

Cheers. I'm done with this track now, I have made more changes, and I'm really happy with it now. It's not a song, it's just a test track, but I may use it later on when I get down to some proper writing, once I have restrung my bass & guitar. Anywho, cheers for all the help. I feel like I have learn't a years worth of editing in one day! :)

Yea, you should be happy with that. That's to me has some real movement. There may be other issues with it, but these will be tweaks. See if others listen and then provide higher quality feed back. But to me, it is starting to sound like a metal track.

Real tight playing. I liked the energy and the way the song moved.

The bass has a real low end problem. Way too rumbly.

Guitars sound OK. I might like a little more low end to them. But in general I thought they were pretty good.

Just get the low end under control.

I don't like how much the snare drum pokes out at you, but it does sound nice and punchy and has some good dynamics. Everything else is almost there, as has been mentioned the bass frequencies in the mix are a bit unclear at times as well, there could be more clarity down there but overall not bad.

Appreciate the feedback, I will bare it in mind. Liking the nylon acoustic stuff happening on your page, gave it a follow. :thumbs up:

Cheers for the kind & constructive words, they are duly noted. And yeah, there is some serious bass happening, I will sort that out on my next project, sick of this one ha! :eatpopcorn:
