i am currently using a digi 001 and a mixer with 14 inputs, main out L and R, and alt out L and R.
the digi has 8 ins and 8 outs..
i am plugging in my mic and stuff into the digi's buit in preamps ( it has 2) but each song that i record has at least 6 tracks..sometimes going up to 20. the thing is that i have the mixer hooked up to where each one of the 8 outs goes into the mixer so i can control the sound throug my mixer. i have my monitors hooked up to my mixer too..whenever i am done with the song and have it just how i like it ...i send everything back into protools in two tracks...L and R
is this the best way to hook every thing up? should i get another mixer for the inputs? because i sometimes use about 5 mics on a guitar.
