Look Mom, I can play!
I have just installed Home Studio 2002. Upgraded from CWE. Very pleased with it. But.....It just wouldn't run, many drop-outs. So my settings to get it to run are:
Options>Audio>Advanced>I/O buffer size: 2048 (!!!! yes really)
And in Options>Audio>General> the Buffer size is at the fastest setting on the slider. Effective latency @ 44kHz is stated as being 624.9msec. There are 6 buffers in playback Queue.
I run a 400meg PII with 756Meg P100 sdram
O/s is Win 98.
I am not experiencing any drop outs now and no other problems detected. It just worries me that my settings are way beyond what the manual/Help says.
Anybody out there got any comments/suggestions?
