I am trying to patch in some external gear as aux effects with DP 2.71 and a 2408mkII. So far, I've only been able to hear the original signal mixed in with the aux effect, but I can't record it.
Here's how I currently have it set-up...
I have one efx processor patched into the 3rd and 4th input/output of my 2408. And another patched into 5&6.
On the mixing window, I have the aux sends of the audio track I want to process set to outputs 3&4 (or 5&6 depending on which processor I want to use). The aux knobs (L&R) are set to fully wet.
I've created an aux track with the inputs coming from 3 and 4 (the signal coming from the effects box) and the outs going to 1&2 (the main outs). Monitoring-wise, everything seems fine. But when I try to record it, nothing will print.
I want to create a new track with my original audio & the aux effects combined. So far, I've tried setting this new track's input to 1&2 and the outs to 1&2 (my main outs).
I've also tried changing the input of the new track I am trying to record to 3&4 (the input of the processor). But when I do this I usually get a horrible blast of feedback.
If it helps any, I am patching all my synths, guitars, etc. into a Mackie 1402. The main outs of my 2408mkII are going directly to monitors (they don't go back to my mixer).
Any advice would be appreciated. I can't find any specific information in either the 2408 or DP manual on how to get this to work.
