So I have this session with two channels, just vocal and guitar respectively. I want to add some compression and mix it to a third track through my omni studio using my new RNC Any one know how to accomplish this.... I have no mixer other than the omni which is connected to my delta 66. Any help would be appreciated... I tried running using the effects sends and running it out channel one into channel 4. There has to be some config that works correctly.
Thanks

Hey I do this quite a lot with joemeek compressors.
You need to set the playback of the track or tracks that you want to proccess to an output channel that you can access from your soundcard. This can be the same stereo pair that you monitor the whole mix with so long as you mute the tracks you dont want recorded when you do this. Then run a cable or cables from that output on your soundcard to the compressor then to an input on your soundcard. then enable a new track in cooledit for recording this input. Its also usefull if you can to listen to the proccessed track only, while you adjust the compressor in realtime.

thanks, after only a few hours of making stoopid mistakes i got it.... the delta 66 mixer threw me off, and i had the ins going to aux instead of the channel ins... the only thing that sucks is that you can't monitor the record levels of your new compressed track, or can you?
