How to use Mbox with Audacity

I have a Mbox 2 Mini and I am trying to use it with Audacity to record small samples to use in Reason. It will not recognize the Mbox at all in the preferences. I am running Windows XP and every other audio program I use recognizes the device fine. Any help is apreciated or any suggestions of other programs, etc.

What's wrong with ProTools? Or am I missing something here?
 
I just wanted a lighterweight solution for just doing a few vocal samples so I don' have to waste valuable disk space on Pro Tools Sessions. I've got PT and everything but I'd like to get Audacity working.
 
This is totally just a guess - but I guess that Audacity doesn't support the mbox due to some kind of licensing issues. Isn't Audacity open-source? I bet those guys have some goofy reasons why digidesign (and all their closed source, hardware locked proprietary stuff) is the devil blah blah etc..... It could even be that developers have to pay some kind of fee to digidesign to include support for their hardware - that's the reason why gimp can do everything photoshop can do except for some silly cmyk paint values (or something like that).

Like I said....just a guess....I'm probably wrong.......
