how do you do this? i have my main beats set and i have all the looping parts set but i wanna work on th song as a full 3 minute song rather than 25seconds. i've tried saving it as a wav file but it only saves 25 seconds and if i loop it on my own it doesnt sound right

a la fruity loops

how many patterns do you have?

click on playlist box(top right) and fill in the boxes with whatever paterns you made and go crazy.

good info

good info from above but it's a little more to it than that. the reason why i asked about the patterns is because the patterns make up the structure of the song. if your chorus is made up of patterns 1,2,3 playing simotaneously then for a hip hop track you would select those for 8 bars what ever patterns make up the main body you can add for the next 16. i can help you out further on this if you like, but for basic structure, you can't go wrong with 8 bars (chorus) 16 bars ( 1st verse) 8 bars (chorus) 16 bars (2nd verse) 8 bars(chorus) 16 bars (3rd verse) 8 bars final chorus. there you go.

Yep...

dont forget to be in "song" mode though instead of "pattern".

damn

that was an important one, thanks for having my back miccontrol.

No problem Jugalo. I actually haven't played with Fruityloops in a while......might need to hop on it tonight and play around. Anybody ever used a keyboard to control FL?

Peace~

miccontrol

i never got into the midi controls in fruity, but my interest is sparked. if anyone knows how to do this, please feel free to share the wealth.

Yeah, I've noticed that there is a midi button on the fruity interface but never really thought about trying to control it. What equipment are you using right now?

Peace~

Ive used my keys to play the sounds on it but i dont think you can really do anything else with FL and a keyboard exept using FL as a sound module. But if there's more? Please tell.

i'm using a general midi keyboard, it's a looong way from a triton, i just use it for basic melodies. i have a mackie 1202 mixer that i use as a preamp for my audio technica 4050. i have a pair of mackie hr824 studio monitors, audio technica ath-d40fs closed headphones, and an art tube preamp(peice of shyyt). i have everything going into my lynx one 24/48 sound card. i do all of my recording on my computer. the software i mainly use is, fruity loops for song structure, vegas video for tracking and mixing, and soundforge for editing. sometimes i use wavelab to check my frequencies. i mix with waves platinum bundle.

i haven't been in the recording game long, but i figure if i can pre produce my songs, then present them to a real studio i can communicate better. i felt like shyyat once at a studio. i went in with my raps on paper and a beat on disk. it had no feeling and thinking of what i can do to make it better just made the engineer richer. i feel if i can do a song in my house, like it, and have it sound decent that i can just go to a professional studio and lay it down hassle free. if i had the talent like big, pac, and a lot of other rappers, to come up with a whole song at the studio without writing it down, and get it in one take, i'll be a happy motherf%^&$#@.
